Cottonwood Development Company was co-founded by Tracy Jones and Steve Leadbetter. Steve, Cottonwood’s wildly creative visionary, is a degreed engineer from the medical construction industry. Steve’s passion for artistry is carved into every detail and finish. Constantly pushing the envelope of design and invention, he utilizes unique and exotic techniques to infuse each project with its own individual spirit.
With an MBA, Tracy manages the construction process from a monetary and efficiency perspective. Prior to founding Cottonwood, his expertise in manufacturing process efficiency led him around the globe, where he taught teams in the U.S., Canada, China and Mexico to improve processes and eliminate inefficiencies. Employing this experience, Tracy keeps careful watch to ensure the timeline and budget for each Cottonwood project are met. Together, Steve and Tracy’s complimentary talents blend not only to deliver an exemplary product, but also combine to provide each client with a truly enjoyable building experience. Cottonwood has also been building green long before it was fashionable.

We choose our projects based on several objectives-whether it’s an extraordinary concept and design, a new challenge that we haven’t built before, or simply a client who’s fun to work with. Our projects range greatly in price, but each is selected because it fits within these criteria. As artists, we seek projects that create passion and enthusiasm within our company. We strive to be genuinely excited about what we build. We structure our processes to build your home as efficiently and quickly as possible. However, we won’t cut corners, and we aren’t just looking for the next house to build. Instead, we look for select opportunities that will allow us to flex our “creative muscles” and inspire us to dream up new ideas and finishes.
