Designing a Timber Frame Home in Ohio

From the wooded hills of southeastern Ohio and the rolling countryside of the central and western regions to the communities along Lake Erie, Ohio offers a varied landscape for a custom home. Timber frame architecture complements these settings through exposed timbers, natural materials, expansive windows, and enduring craftsmanship that creates a strong connection between the home and its surroundings.

Woodhouse can customize an existing floor plan or create a fully original design around your property, lifestyle, architectural preferences, and long-term plans. Covered porches, generous gathering spaces, fireplaces, and strong indoor-outdoor connections can suit everything from wooded retreats to rural properties and lake-oriented homes. Energy-efficient structural insulated panels (SIPs) help support year-round comfort, while site-specific design and engineering can address Ohio’s cold winters, warm humid summers, snow, wind, and other local conditions.

Since 1979, Woodhouse has specialized in architectural design, engineering, and precision timber frame fabrication. We collaborate with your local builder and project team, providing the specialized timber frame expertise and home package components needed to bring your Ohio home to life.
