Designing a Timber Frame Home in Florida

Florida offers a distinctive setting for a timber frame home, from coastal properties along the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico to wooded inland retreats, lakeside homes, and communities throughout the state. Timber frame architecture brings warmth and natural character to these settings, with exposed wood craftsmanship, expansive windows, and open living spaces that create a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor environments.

Every Woodhouse home begins with the people who will live there and the property they have chosen. Our team can customize an existing floor plan or create a fully original design tailored to your site, lifestyle, architectural preferences, and long-term plans. Features such as shaded outdoor living areas, thoughtfully positioned windows, and energy-efficient building systems can help address Florida's heat and humidity. Site-specific engineering also considers applicable wind-load requirements, coastal exposure, and local building codes.

Since 1979, Woodhouse has specialized in architectural design, engineering, and precision timber frame fabrication. We collaborate with your local builder and project team, providing the specialized timber frame expertise and home package components needed to bring your Florida timber frame home to life.
